How long will the repairs to my vehicle take?
Repair times can vary based on the type and extent of the damage. Typically, we provide a preliminary estimate before your car arrives at our shop. Once your vehicle is dropped off, we begin with a pre-repair diagnostic scan to ensure all advanced safety systems are functioning. We then disassemble the damaged areas for a detailed inspection and repair plan. After receiving approval from your insurance company, we place orders for the necessary parts and continue with the repair process, which includes body work, painting, reassembly, and additional scans to recalibrate any systems. We also perform a road test to make sure everything is functioning properly. Once the work is complete, we clean and detail your vehicle before returning it to you. We’ll stay in touch and give you updates throughout the process.

How can I get a rental car?
If you need a rental car while your vehicle is being repaired, we work with Pro Rent-a-Car to arrange one for you at the time of drop-off. We’ll help you with the necessary paperwork, and you can sign for your rental here at our shop. Be sure to check your insurance policy or call your insurance company to confirm if you have rental coverage, and find out about any specific limitations.

Can you match the paint color of my car?
Matching paint on modern vehicles is a highly specialized process. Today's factory finishes use several layers of advanced paint types like metallics and pearls, which can appear differently depending on the material (metal vs. plastic) being painted. Did you know that 90% of vehicles on the road have mismatched bumpers, even from the factory? At Local Guys Collision, we invest in the latest paint technology and equipment to ensure the best possible match, blending the paint so it matches your vehicle as closely as possible.

Where do I get a claim number?
A claim number is issued by your insurance company when you report your accident. Please bring this number with you when you bring your vehicle in for repairs.
-
Do I have to pay a deductible?
Whether or not you’ll need to pay a deductible depends on your insurance policy. If you were not at fault in the accident and carry collision coverage, your insurance company may waive your deductible. Insurance companies determine fault based on your account of the incident, as well as the police report. If you’re unsure whether your deductible has been waived, you can contact your insurance agent for clarification.
-
Where do I pay my deductible?
If your deductible is not waived, you will be responsible for paying it directly to Local Guys Collision when you pick up your vehicle. If you’re unsure whether you’ll need to pay a deductible, your insurance agent can confirm whether it’s been waived or if you will need to pay it.

Do I have to use my insurer's preferred shop?
You have the right to choose where your vehicle is repaired—insurance companies cannot require you to use their preferred shop. Many insurers have preferred shops primarily for cost-saving purposes, not necessarily because of the quality of repairs. While insurance companies aim to streamline the claims process and keep customers satisfied, their agreements with certain shops are largely based on reducing expenses.
Local Guys Collision understands the importance of cost efficiency, especially in today's economy. However, the top priority should always be safety. The technicians performing the repairs are paid based on the estimated labor hours. When those hours are significantly reduced, and they are expected to complete work without proper compensation, it can lead to shortcuts or even critical repairs being overlooked.
A vehicle may appear properly repaired on the outside, but underlying structural issues could remain hidden beneath the surface. With the complexity of modern driver-assist technologies, ensuring that all safety systems function correctly is crucial. For that reason, choosing the right repair shop is one of the most important decisions in the process. We encourage you to select a shop that prioritizes your safety and the integrity of your vehicle—not just one recommended based on cost-saving agreements.
